Current TCHI Committees:

Fund Raising: Provides for short term, onetime and annual fund raising events for the organization.

Grant Search and Writing: Searches for, writes, and applies for ongoing and one time grants; local, national, denominational, interdenominational, etc. Capital Campaign-Persons gifted in organizing and raising monetary gifts to fund major building expansion and paid staffing.

Building and Maintenance: Overseas and cares for immediate short term needs of the building (install air conditioners, light bulbs, appliance upkeep and procurement, storm doors, etc.). Can perform minor repairs and upkeep as needed. Enlists and interfaces with architect, contractors, and others as needed.

Nominations: Contacts and interviews candidates for Executive Board and other positions as needed. Begins their work no later than July 1 of each year and presents slate for November elections.

Communications: Persons able or willing to be trained to speak before community to communicate the mission, goals, and needs of TCHI shelter. Speakers represent TCHI to other organizations and congregations with the intent of telling our story, and presenting current needs. As well as work with our Website, Facebook, and quarterly Newsletter. Responsible for submitting news articles to TV, radio, and newspapers.

Volunteer Recruitment: Continually searches for and enlists volunteers to serve on committees and other shelter needs.

Household Needs: Organizes needed household items into kits, such as sheets and towels / kitchen needs / some furniture as needed. This purpose is to prepare guests who are leaving the shelter and moving into their own residences.
